He's Not Just a Man. He's a MEGA Man! *cue terrible music*

In "Why Wait Until E3 When We Can Just Announce Everything Whenever We Want So Let's Just Do It Now" News, Capcom has announced the Mega Man: Legacy Collection! Click the image above for the full announcement.

To be released this summer for Xbox One, PS4, and PC along with a 3DS version coming this winter, Mega Man: Legacy Collection is not only bringing the first 6 games but a couple of novel little additions. We'll be getting challenges (because who doesn't want to learn just how terrible you are at Mega Man 2 in comparison to all the other 8 year olds?), a digital museum filled with art and information, along with leaderboards and replays. All the informational nutrition a growing Mega Man needs!

Mega Man 2 was my favorite of the series although, truth be told, it's also the only one I ever played through to completion. These are games that grew up with some of that standard "Nintendo Toughness" and, for me, never really got any easier. Which is probably a good thing because I definitely appreciate a challenge and I feel like making a Mega Man game "easy" might not be the best thing for the series. I'm a big fan of the character design for both our titular hero as well as Dr. Wily's cadre of asshole-bots.

In any case, watch the trailer below and maybe get excited if you like Mega Men. This release has all the bells and whistles including, but not limited to, many P's and probably some FPS'. The game is being restored by Digital Eclipse which means it'll be real pretty.

Featuring faithful reproductions of the series' origins with the original six Mega Man games, the Legacy Collection will remind long-time fans and introduce newcomers to what made Mega Man such a popular and iconic character. "Challenge Mode" remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer, yet serving as a good starting point for new players.

So, viewers, does this excite you? Are you into the Mega Man franchise and willing to spend any amount of dollars just to feed this filthy addiction? Drop us a comment, I'm genuinely curious how the audience is going to consume this along with Mighty No. 9 which releases in September. Mega Man vs. Mighty No. 9. Who wins?

I'd probably say "us".

Cheers, Mr. Lake
