Halo is a bit of an odd property for me.

I came into the first, Halo: Combat Evolved, sometime around a year after it's release (which is when I got my first XBOX). I liked the game, thought the character design and overall aesthetic were pretty cool but I don't remember it taking hold of me, making me want to play it 24/7.
